Registration
To attend the Glycogen Symposium – Honouring the Legacy of Joan Guinovart, registration is required.
The event can be followed in person at IRB Barcelona or online.
Attendance is free of charge, but registration is mandatory for both formats.
Please note that on-site places are limited, so we encourage early registration if you plan to join us in Barcelona.

After completing your registration order, you will receive an email confirming its receipt, and in due course a second email confirming the acceptance of your registration to participate in the event.

Event Terms and Conditions for Attendance
By registering to attend the Glycogen: Honouring the Legacy of Joan Guinovart Symposium (“the Symposium”), whether in person or online, participants (“you”) enter into an agreement with the event organizers — the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS), the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB), and the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) — and agree to the terms and conditions set out below.
The Symposium will take place on 20 March 2026 at IRB Barcelona, located at Carrer de Baldiri Reixac, 10, 08028 Barcelona, Spain, and will also be available to follow online via live streaming.
1. Registration
Attendance at the Symposium is free of charge, but registration is required for both in-person and online participation.
By registering, you agree to provide accurate information that will be used solely for organizational purposes related to the Symposium.
The organizers reserve the right to close in-person registration once the maximum capacity of the venue is reached.
Online attendance remains available to all registered participants.
2. Changes or Cancellation of the Event
The organizers intend to hold the Symposium as a hybrid event, with both in-person and online attendance options. However, they reserve the right to modify the format (including moving fully online) or cancel the event if circumstances beyond their reasonable control make this necessary.
If any such change occurs, registered participants will be notified as soon as possible via the email address provided during registration.
The organizers accept no responsibility for any costs or losses incurred by participants in connection with travel or accommodation bookings.
3. Data Protection
The personal data you provide during registration will be processed by FEBS for the purpose of managing your attendance at the Symposium, including the provision of online access where applicable.
Your data will be shared with IRB Barcelona solely for purposes related to on-site access and event organization.
No personal data will be shared with any other third party or used for marketing purposes.
All processing will comply with applicable data protection legislation, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

4. Photography and Media
Photographs and short videos may be taken during the in-person sessions of the Symposium for use in communications by FEBS, IUBMB and IRB Barcelona, including on websites, newsletters and social media channels.
By attending the Symposium in person, you consent to the possible use of images in which you may appear for non-commercial, informational and promotional purposes related to the event.
If you prefer not to appear in such materials, please inform a member of the event staff on arrival.
(This clause does not apply to participants attending online.)
5. Disclaimer
The organizers take reasonable care in the planning and execution of the Symposium but shall not be liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to property incurred by participants during travel to or attendance at the in-person event.
Participants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements and any necessary insurance coverage
6. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Spain.
Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Barcelona, Spain.
